Sabah Fest 2013 – Mempersembahkan Pementasan Muzikal ‘Injin Puput – Menjelajah ke Tengah Borneo’

Kota Kinabalu– Sabah Fest ataupun Pesta Sabah 2013 akan kembali mempamerkan kepelbagaian budaya tradisi rakyat Sabah. Pementasan muzikal kali ini akan mengetengahkan kepada orang ramai, ‘Injin Puput – Menjelajah ke Tengah Borneo’, yang akan diadakan pada 3 dan 4 Mei 2013, bertempat di Auditorium Kompleks Jabatan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Negara Negeri Sabah (JKKNS)  bermula pada pukul 8.30 malam.

Tema pada tahun ini, Pesta Sabah akan mengimbau kembali pada zaman bermulanya laluan kereta api Borneo Utara (North Borneo Railway) serta suasana masyarakat yang tinggal di kawasan laluan kereta api Borneo Utara ketika itu. Penonton akan berpeluang untuk menyaksikan persembahan drama tari yang akan memaparkan adat-adat lama dalam bentuk tarian, muzikal dan persembahan pentas.

Injin Puput – Menjelajah  ke Tengah Borneo,  mengisahkan peranan seorang pemuda Murut yang dikenali sebagai Aki Gounon dalam pembinaan jalan kereta api Borneo Utara. Penceritaan juga akan memaparkan perjalanan hidup beliau sejak zaman permulaan Perang Dunia ke-2 sehinggalah peperangan tamat. Selain itu, sebagai seorang pemuda yang tampan, Aki Gounon  tidak terkecuali  dalam mengharungi dunia percintaan dengan seorang gadis daripada keturunan yang berlainan.

Apakah iktibar yang akan dicanai melalui cerita Injin Puput? Bagaimanakah berakhirnya kisah percintaan Aki Guonon? Marilah bersama-sama menantikan Pesta Sabah 2013.

Selain pertunjukan pentas, demonstrasi pembuatan kraf tangan dan pameran makanan tradisional juga akan diadakan sempena Pesta Sabah. Acara ini akan berlangsung bermula pukul 10 pagi hingga pukul 10 malam bertempat di galeri kompleks JKKN Sabah, selama dua hari.

 

Acara ini dibawa khas oleh Lembaga Pelancongan Sabah (LPS) dan dianjurkan oleh Syarikat  Subsidiari Milik Penuh Sri Pelancongan Sabah Sdn. Bhd. Tiket berharga RM50 boleh didapati di pejabat Sri Pelancongan Sabah dan pejabat Lembaga Pelancongan Sabah.

Sabah Fest 2013: presents the musical performance ‘InjinPuput – Passage to the Heart of Borneo’

Kota Kinabalu, 18 April 2013 –The much awaited cultural extravaganza that is Sabah Fest returns with another spectacular show highlighting Sabah’s diverse peoples, their cultures and traditions. The musical performance ‘InjinPuput – Passage to the Heart of Borneo’ will be held on the 3rdand 4thof May at the Auditorium Kompleks JKKN Sabah starting at 8.30pm.

This year, take a journey back in time on Sabah’s North Borneo Railway as Sabah Fest 2013 presents ‘InjinPuput – Passage to the Heart of Borneo’, a story of Aki Guonun, a Murut warriorin love with Mei Ling, a woman from a cultural background alien to his. ‘InjinPuput’ will take you back to the different eras in Sabah – from the legends of BatuPunggul and the construction of the North Borneo Railway before and after World War II.

Explore the uniqueness of the cultural heritage of districts along the North Borneo Railway route. Experience the best of Sabah with all five senses at the Sabah Fest Cultural Extravaganza 2013 – a celebration of Sabah’s natural charms!

Be delighted by a spectre of vibrant theatrical performances, pocket shows, food, as well as traditional handicraft exhibitions and demonstrations which will be performed by local craft makers and artisans. Sabah Fest 2012 highlights traditional Sabah food and handicraft

Kota Kinabalu, 17 April 2012 – As the highly-anticipated Sabah Fest takes centre stage from 3rd to 5th May with ‘The Adventures of Ngarayang’ at the newly-launched Auditorium JKKN Sabah, a string of fringe events will be taking place outside the venue to give visitors a complete cultural journey.

Handicraft-making demonstrations by expert local artisans, pocket shows of traditional music and dance performances and traditional foods to sample will all be a part of this cultural extravaganza as various booths showcasing all of these and more are opened to the public from 10.00am to 10.00pm during these three days.

Craft makers from all over the state will be there demonstrating the production of handicrafts such as traditional tapestries by Sirungan binti Sulaiman from Kota Belud, bamboo musical instruments by George Nuli form Kota Belud and Philipus Jani from Tambunan, miniature lepa-lepa by Haji Alpaka Hamah from Semporna and bead accessories by Nonjiring Montoku from Kudat.

Established art and handicraft institutions including Sabah Art Gallery, Kraftangan Malaysia, Kadaiku, Mayuri House of Art & Learning, RF Collections of Sabah Pearls, and Olumis Batik showcasing Sabah batik, will also be opening up exhibition booths to showcase their products.

Foodies will be in for a real treat as food and beverage entrepreneurs will also be at the event to highlight some of Sabah’s best traditional food and signature dishes.  Be prepared to sample a range of local products from chocolate to ice cream, honey, tea and coffee. The Bajau, Kadazandusun and Brunei Sabah cultural associations will highlight their traditional signature delicacies with exciting flavours and aromas to excite the palate. Kudat-born Malaysian celebrity chef, Chef Johan will also be there to exhibit some of his culinary specials. Visitors will not want to miss sampling these and a cultural experience of a lifetime, all at Sabah Fest 2012.
